While Bitcoin has maintained its prominence as a cryptocurrency, a significant amount of economic activity lives on other chains or ecosystems. How can we build new primitives on top of Bitcoin that enable more expressive asset creation and transfer? How can we also interoperate with the existing Lightning Network? While also raising the bar for default transaction privacy?
This talk will cover the technical foundations of the Taproot Assets protocol, and focus on how client-side validation enables new dimensions in transaction privacy and expressiveness, without sacrificing on scalability or complexity.
Jonathan is a Protocol Developer at Lightning Labs working on the Taproot Assets protocol. He has previously worked on schemes for lossless Bitcoin transaction compression, the Lot49 protocol for offline Lightning channels running on mesh networks, and secure-key-deletion Bitcoin vaults.
