Cashu – Chaumian Ecash in the wild
10-01, 14:00–14:50 (Europe/Prague), Institute of Cryptoanarchy

Cashu is an open source Chaumian ecash protocol designed for Bitcoin, providing exceptional privacy for users of custodial applications. The protocol guarantees the anonymity of users, the amount of funds they hold, and their transaction history, making it impossible to censor specific users.

In this workshop, we will delve into the technical aspects of the protocol, including the cryptographic techniques for making ecash, and how Cashu integrates with Bitcoin Lightning. We will set up our own Chaumian Ecash mints and explore different use cases where Cashu can enhance user privacy for online services that use Bitcoin.
